Besides all I got light blue bluetooth, but the pro/qireless wifi off, look at the bios and enabled, aztualice the bios and comprove this on. I just want to add that I eventually did find the source of the problem for all of my issues. I see that this problem is widespread with Ubuntu 9.

Non-free firmware is required for both drivers, which can be provided by installing the firmware-ipw2x00 package. Also I have since partitioned the drive to install XP, which I used to confirm that the wireless is working, with the latest Intel drivers.
